Airport Infrastructure Upgrades in Vanua Levu

The Fiji Tourism Development Program in Vanua Levu (Na Vualiku Project) is supporting Airports Fiji Limited to enhance critical airport infrastructure in Labasa, Savusavu, and Taveuni. These works are designed to improve safety, resilience, and passenger experience, while laying the foundation for long-term growth in Vanua Levu’s tourism sector.

    • Fire truck and fire station upgrade
    • Installation of new baggage screening equipment

    • Terminal facility improvements
    • Construction of a new fire station
    • Replacement of perimeter fencing
  • Cross-cutting Investments
    • Seawall remediation and stormwater drainage maintenance
    • Remote tower technology enhancements to improve air traffic management
    • Feasibility study for a new Vanua Levu Airport and potential upgrade of Matei Airport
