The Project is assisting FRA with improvements to the Labasa-Savusavu Cross Island Connecting Road, which is the island’s most traveled road but underdeveloped. Further improvement is needed to make it part of the tourism offer and help promote safe, resilient, and efficient connectivity between the two major towns of Vanua Levu. This road can be developed into a scenic link with proper lookouts, rest stops, and navigational traffic signs directing road users to the nearby tourist attractions (such as the Waisali Rainforest Reserve, also supported by the Project).
